Andover Police Seek Help Identifying Bank Robber

Police in Andover are asking the public’s help in an ongoing search for a suspect in a robbery Thursday afternoon at Santander Bank, 71 Main St., Andover.

According to Andover police, a man who entered the bank at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, handed a teller a note demanding money.

“He left with an undisclosed quantity of cash and fled in an unknown direction,” a spokesperson said. “No weapon was shown and no one in the bank was injured.”

The robbery remains under investigation, according to Andover Police Commander and Executive Officer Charles E. Heseltine. He told WHAV Tuesday there are “no new developments.”

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, between five feet, eight inches to five feet, 11 inches tall, with an average build. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt, a dark-colored New England Patriots baseball cap, blue jeans and dark sneakers with light colored soles. Surveillance photos released by police also show the suspect had a short beard or facial hair growth.
