A Haverhill man was to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on police charges stemming from an investigation into a motor vehicle crash.
Haverhill police arrested Robert Butcher, 58, of 63 Franklin St., Haverhill, on a warrant at 1:34 a.m., Tuesday, at home. Under the warrant, he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving with a suspended license.
In other police news, a Seabrook, N.H., man charged by Haverhill police with shoplifting late Tuesday afternoon at Westgate shopping plaza, 400 Lowell Ave., is due to appear in court.
Jimmy Demers, 32, of Seabrook, was arrested at 4:21 p.m., Tuesday at the plaza. He was charged with one count of shoplifting by concealing.
