Douglas William Henderson, 69, of Haverhill, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill.
Born in Everett, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Frye) Henderson. He attended Wakefield public schools and graduated from Wakefield High School with the class of 1965. Henderson joined the Submarine Corp in the Navy and was discharged in 1973. He worked for 17 years for Berkshire Manufacturing in Newburyport, where he had many close friends and buddies. He was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his wife and son. His greatest joy was watching his son play football and hockey and was the proud dad when his son entered the Girard School of Business at Merrimack College.
He leaves his wife Nancy D. and their son David W. of Haverhill; his brother Russell Henderson and partner Marcus Bordelon, Richmond, Ky.;. and several nieces and a nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service Monday, Dec. 28, at 4 p.m. at Central Congregational Church, 14 Titcomb St., Newburyport. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
