Constance J. (Gagne) Donahue, 92, WW II Navy Veteran

Constance J. (Gagne) Donahue, 92, of Haverhill, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 23, at Penacook Place Nursing Home, Haverhill.

She was born in Manchester, N.H., Dec. 4, 1923, daughter of the late Alexis J. and Honorine (Rioux) Gagne. Mrs. Donahue was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1942. Upon graduating she attended the former Bradford College. During World War II she served in the United States Navy for three years as a member of the WAVES, attaining the rank of Seaman First Class and was stationed in Norfolk, Virg., and Oklahoma. For a period of time, Donahue was employed at Haverhill Day Care Center. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Marion Messengers and a parishioner at Sacred Hearts Church. She was predeceased by her husband Francis Donahue, a son Stephen Donahue and her brothers Roland, Robert and John Gagne. She is survived by her children James and his wife Gloria Donahue of Bradford, Christopher and his wife Susan Donahue of Haverhill, Timothy and his wife Kimberly Donahue of Haverhill and Kathryn Ronaldson and her husband Kirk of York, Maine; a brother, Bernard Gagne; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren with a ninth on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 9 to 10 a.m., at the H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (route 125). A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10:30, in Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Burial follows in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
