Dr. Simonds to Discuss Colorectal Cancers at Jan. 5 Seminar

Colorectal surgeon Jana Simonds discusses the diagnosis and treatment of anal cancers during a free seminar at Holy Family Hospital, Haverhill campus, Tuesday, Jan. 5.

During her presentation, “Common and Uncommon Anal Cancers,” Simonds will talk in detail about the anatomy of the anal area, describe the common and uncommon types of anal cancers and explain how they are diagnosed and treated. The seminar is from 6 to 7 p.m.i n the hospital’s first-floor auditorium.

Dr. Simonds is on staff at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill and Methuen. She has joined practice with surgeons V.R. Gokul Prakash, Robert Moore and Romie Mundy at Steward North Andover Surgery and SMG General Surgery in Haverhill.

The presentation is part of the Meet the Expert series of seminars held monthly throughout the year. Seminars are free and open to the public. Light refreshments are served, and registration is required. Nurses in attendance are awarded one contact hour in nursing at the end of the presentation.
