Armed Robbery, Burglary and Theft Dominate Police Log

A Haverhill man, arrested by police Monday evening on an armed robbery charge, is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

Robert Demers, 27, of 127 How St., Haverhill, was arrested on a warrant at 6:14 p.m., Monday, at home. Under the warrant, he was charged with one count of armed and masked robbery. Further details were unavailable by deadline.

In a separate investigation by Haverhill police, a Haverhill man faces a theft charge in court after his arrest Monday afternoon. Jonathan Burns, 23, of 4 Prospect St., Haverhill, was arrested at 1:13 p.m., Monday, at 157 South Pleasant St. He was charged with larceny over $250.

In other police news, a Haverhill man, arrested Monday night on a warrant, faces burglary charges in district court. Ian Thibault, 18, of 34 Fountain St., Haverhill, was taken into custody at 9:28 p.m., Monday at 1 Plug Pond. Under the warrant, he was charged with felony breaking and entering in the nighttime, possession of a burglarious instrument and destruction of property.
