Police Arrest Haverhill Man After Alleged Hit and Run Crash Sunday

A Haverhill man is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on drunk driving and other charges after an alleged hit and run crash Sunday night off route 125 near the Plaistow, N.H. border.

Michael McAnistan, 35, of 15 Saint Botolph St., Haverhill, was arrested at 9:09 p.m., Sunday, at 145 Merrill Ave. He was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Haverhill police report Luis Torres, 21, of 109 High St., Haverhill, was arrested at 1:20 p.m., Friday, at home on charges of drug possession with intent to distribute and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

A Haverhill man is due to appear in court on charges related to an alleged disturbance early Sunday morning in the upper Acre neighborhood. According to Haverhill police, Jordan Hafford, 21, of 462 Main St., Haverhill, was taken into custody at 1:20 a.m., Sunday, on Eighth Avenue. He was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. No further details were available by deadline.
