Catherine Elizabeth Hefferan (Mullen) 88, died Nov. 23, at the St. Teresa Nursing and Rehabilitation Home, Manchester, N.H.
Hefferan was born in Manchester, N.H., Sept. 14, 1927, and was one of seven children to the late Cornelius and Catherine (Maguire) Mullen. She attended St. Joseph’s School for Girls in 1945 and after graduating, worked as an operator for The New England Telephone Co. in Manchester. Hefferan was married in September, 1955, to Richard F. Hefferan, after which they moved to Bradford, where they resided while raising their family. She was predeceased by her husband in 1986.
Hefferan is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Julia Hefferan of Nashua, N.H., Thomas and Mary Hefferan of Haverhill, John and Lauren Hefferan of Newburyport, and Richard and Jennifer Hefferan of Eagle, Colo.; two sisters, Noreen Basquill and Arlene Mullen, both of Manchester, N.H.; 12 grandchildren, Elizabeth Sierpien and her husband James , Catherine Mann and her husband Robert, Mary Hefferan, Meghan Hefferan, Christopher Hefferan, Patrick Hefferan, Callie Hefferan, Paige Hefferan, Rachael Hefferan, Danielle Hefferan, Colleen Hefferan and Richard Hefferan III; four great grandchildren, Adelynn and Margaret Sierpien, William Mann and Jameson Squires; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary LaFleur and Margaret Jones and her brothers, John Mullen and James Mullen
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her life celebration Sunday, Nov. 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will begin on Monday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
