Dorothy A. (Dunn) Porro, 84, Assembler at AT&T

dorothy_dunnDorothy A. (Dunn) Porro, 84, a longtime resident of Haverhill died Nov. 22, at Methuen Village, Methuen.

Born, raised and educated in Lynn, daughter of the late Eugene and Marion (Gray) Dunn, she graduated from Lynn High School with the class of 1949. Porro was employed as an assembler at AT&T and Lucent Technologies, from where she retired after 21 years of service, and was a member of the Communication Workers of America, AFL-CIO Local 1365. A former longtime wintertime resident of Destin, Fla., she enjoyed taking trips to Aruba and to Foxwoods Casino, where she loved trying her luck with the slots. She also enjoyed dining out, shopping and dancing.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest V. Porro in 2007, and is survived by two daughters, Jo-Ann M. Conlon and her husband Matthew of Methuen, and Christine E. Gouthier and her husband Mark of Haverhill; two sons, Richard E. Porro and his wife Norma of Haverhill, and Stephen A. Porro and his companion Loraine of Haverhill; a brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Barbara Dunn of Florida; six grandchildren, Jason Porro and his wife Julie, Adam Porro and his wife Devin, Justin Surette and his wife Ashley, Kelsey (Surette) Bourk and her husband James, Ashley Gouthier and her fiancé Carlos LaPorte, and Ryan Gouthier; four great grandchildren, Callan, Noah, Ethan, and Christian; several nieces and nephews; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Swidler.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Porro’s life celebration Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. Her funeral service will take place Friday, Nov. 27, at 10 a.m. ,in the funeral home followed by burial in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
