A Haverhill man, accused of assault causing serious injury Wednesday evening in connection with a disturbance in the lower Acre neighborhood, is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.
Kevin Basford, 38, of 127 How St., Haverhill, was arrested at 7:24 p.m., Wednesday, at home, and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
In other police news, a warrant sweep Wednesday by Haverhill police nets four local residents, including a Haverhill man sought on as many as four outstanding warrants. However, specific charges under the warrants were not listed on a police log. The warrant arrests occurred between 10:26 a.m. and 1:20 p.m., Wednesday.
