Julia F. (Bachini) Rampulla, 93, Bookkeeper in Shoe Factories

Julia_RampullaJulia F. (Bachini) Rampulla, 93, longtime Groveland resident, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 14, at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley.

She was born in Haverhill Dec. 14, 1921, youngest of five children of Italian immigrants, Giulo and Ferdinanda (Conforti) Bachini. She was raised in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1941. Rampulla worked during World War II with manufacturers that provided materials to the U.S. Navy, and she was given recognition for supporting the war effort.

She was the wife of 42 years to the late Andrew Rampulla, who passed away in 1994. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper in the shoe factories in Haverhill until doing the same for her various family members’ restaurants in the City.

Her surviving family members include her sons, Joseph Rampulla, Andrew Rampulla and Susan Flynn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Bachini and wife Anna, Iris Basso, Carlotta Kershaw and Florence Petrou; lifelong friend of the late Barbara DeCesare.

Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 17, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main St., (route 125), Bradford from 10 a.m. to noon. Graveside services will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to either Elder Services of Merrimack Valley, 360 Merrimack St. Bldg. 5, Lawrence, MA 01843; or Council on Aging of Groveland, 183 Main St. Groveland, MA 01834.
