Haverhill Man, 36, Faces Child Rape Charge

A Haverhill man was charged Sunday with rape of child with force, after a police investigation.

David Avery, 36, of 26 Maxwell St., Haverhill, was taken into custody on a warrant at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, at home. He is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

Under the warrant, he was charged with one count of rape of a child with force.

An Andover man faces drunk driving charges in Haverhill District Court after his arrest by Haverhill police Saturday night near Ward Hill. Matthew Mangano, 28, of Andover, was arrested at 11:18 p.m., Saturday, at 782 South Main St. He was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, alcohol from an open container, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a passing violation.

A Rochester man was charged by Haverhill police with being a fugitive from justice following his arrest Saturday evening on an outstanding warrant charging him with unlicensed driving. Clayton Anderson, 25, of Rochester, was arrested at 7:33 p.m., Saturday, at 7 Dudley St. Under the warrant, he was additionally charged with a marked lanes violation.

Two men, arrested separately over the weekend on unrelated charges of an abuse prevention order violation, are due to appear in Haverhill District Court. Jeffrey Dodge, 53, of 3 Blaisdell St., Haverhill, was arrested at 3:47 p.m., Sunday, at home stemming from an investigation. At 8:12 a.m., Saturday, Michael Brown, 26, of Manchester, was taken into custody at Haverhill police headquarters, 40 Bailey Boulevard, on a warrant charging him with an abuse prevention order violation

Anne Johnson, 23, of 68 Hamilton Ave., Haverhill, was taken into custody at 5:23 p.m., Friday, at 280 Main St. She was charged with driving with a suspended registration and speeding.
