Eleanor G. McMurrer, 87

eleanor_mcmurrerEleanor G. McMurrer, 87, of Haverhill, passed away at her home with her family by her side Sunday, Nov. 15.

She was born Aug. 22, 1928 in Chelsea, the daughter of the late Samuel and Mae (Garland) Churchill. She was raised and educated in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School. McMurrer was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and being a “Nana.” She was a very social woman who always kept in touch with her old friends, both locally and in Kentucky. She enjoyed taking trips with her family and spending time at both York Beach, Maine, and Seabrook, N.H. She and her dear friend Marie enjoyed countless hours working on jigsaw puzzles together. She was a talented piano player who loved to play and entertain her family and friends. She took great pride working around her yard and in her garden.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph E. McMurrer of Haverhill; daughter, Elizabeth A. Kozerski and husband, Bruce of Edgewood, Ky; son Joseph E. McMurrer Jr. of Ft. Myers, Fla.; grandchildren Justin McMurrer, Jenna McMurrer, Matthew Kozerski, Adam Kozerski and Amy Kozerski; several siblings; and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to McMurrer’s life celebration Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Funeral services are Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Peabody.
