Expect the possibility of Interstate 93 traffic congestion Friday night and Saturday morning as the Massachusetts Department of Transportation implements “an interim traffic configuration” with the three lanes of I-93 southbound shifted to the east, creating a work area on the west side of the roadway.

Beginning Friday, Nov. 6, the southbound left lane will be closed from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m., Saturday, and the southbound center lane will be closed from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Saturday. The southbound right lane will be closed from 2 a.m., Saturday to noon, Saturday, and the northbound left lane will be closed from 8 p.m., Friday to 11 a.m., Saturday.

The $66.4 million project replaces the existing rotary with a partial cloverleaf interchange.
