Haverhill Chamber Hosts Free Non-Profit Board Workshop

Michael Gallagher, risk management director and senior vice president at Enterprise Bank, is leading a workshop on “Non-Profit Board Governance and Development” for members of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce next week.

“Every non-profit organization needs a board of directors to run, and many local executives make up those entities. Understanding how to find the best board members, and orient them to the needs of the organization are critical to effective leadership. This seminar will provide needed insight,” according to a statement from the chamber.

The workshop takes place Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the chamber offices, 80 Merrimack St., from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. A light breakfast, and registration begins at 8 a.m. Gallagher will address such topics as steps boards can follow to create a stronger and more engaged board, recruiting and retaining qualified directors, structuring an effective board meeting, making the best use of board committees and director responsibility.

The workshop is free, but seating is limited and advance reservations are required. Seats may be reserved by contacting Beverly Donovan at (978) 373-5663 or emailing [email protected].
