Impaired Driving, Theft Dominate Weekend Police Arrests

A Haverhill man is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on drunk driving and child endangerment charges after an investigation by Haverhill police lead to his arrest Saturday night.

Alberto Caruso, 42, of 37 Old Ferry Road, Haverhill, was taken into custody at 10:23 p.m., Saturday, at home. He was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, driving with an open alcohol container and child endangerment.

In other police news:

A Haverhill man, arrested Friday evening on a warrant for impaired driving and other motor vehicle charges, is due to appear in court. Lukas Hastings, 26, of 7 Kimball St., Haverhill, was arrested at 5:11 p.m., Friday, at home. Under the warrant, he was charged with driving with a suspended license, operating under the influence of drugs and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

A Roxbury man is due to appear in Haverhill District Court after his arrest Friday afternoon on an outstanding warrant. Joaojose Martins, 40, of Roxbury, was arrested at 4:50 p.m., Friday, at 9 Creek Brook Drive. Under a warrant, he was charged with larceny from a building, larceny over $250 and conspiracy.

A Haverhill man, arrested last weekend by police at Central Plaza, 2 Water St., on a charge of shoplifting by price tag, is also due to appear in district court. Louis Fiorentini, 55, of 69 Kingsbury Ave., Haverhill, was taken into custody at 7:02 p.m., Saturday.
