Norman E. Huberdeau, 89, Former Haverhill Deputy Tax Collector

norman_huberdeauNorman E. Huberdeau, 89, of Andover, formerly of Haverhill, husband of Patricia “Patrice” J. (Lagasse) Huberdeau passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, surrounded by his family.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Delphis and Leona (Comeau) Huberdeau. He was raised and educated in Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1944. A Veteran of World War II, he served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. He began his career in the local shoe industry as a foreman at the M. Karelis Wood Heel Company and then served as deputy tax collector for the City of Haverhill for more than 30 years. He was also the owner of Pentucket Credit and Collection Agency of Haverhill.

He leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Patricia J. “Patrice” (Lagasse) Huberdeau; daughter and son in law, Candace A. Devens and her husband Peter M. of Haverhill; three grandchildren, Cayla A. Conigliaro, Anthony “Tony” Conigliaro II and William “Billy” Conigliaro II; and a brother, Melvin Huberdeau and his wife Patricia, of Newburyport. He was predeceased by his son; Jay P. Huberdeau, sisters; Lorraine Ryan and Beatrice Dempski and brothers, Raymond and Herman Huberdeau.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 11, in the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at the Linwood Mausoleum at Linwood Cemetery, Mill Street, Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Merrimack valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave. Haverhill.
