A man listed by Haverhill police as homeless is facing firearms-related charges after his arrest Friday afternoon.
Brandon Carroll, 23, previously of Atkinson, N.H., was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm without an identification card, unlicensed possession of ammunition and resisting arrest. The arrest occurred at 1:07 p.m., Friday, on High Street.
In other police news, an Atkinson, N.H. motorist is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on drunk driving charges after her arrest by Haverhill police Sunday stemming from an alleged hit and run crash.
Mary Murphy, 49, of Atkinson, was arrested at 3:50 p.m., Sunday, at 47 Monument St. She was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and failure to drive in a right lane.
ANOTHER one with an unlicensed gun and NO FID card. Will someone tell me how tougher gun laws will prevent this guy from having a weapon, and how they propose to control this??????
Oh, that’s easy. You see when they make all these new laws, the bad guys and girls will FEEL guilty and ashamed of breaking the law. After a short period of guilt, they will do the right thing and turn themselves in for punishment. This is the best way to target the problem of legal and law abiding citizens carrying guns. This liberal guilt has been on display for years and has worked in many other problem areas such as poverty, drugs,welfare abuse, and health care to name a few.
