Two people, including a Seabrook, N.H. man, were due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on unrelated assault charges, among others, following separate warrant arrests by police Thursday.
Jorge Cortes, 27, of Seabrook, was taken into custody at 11:29 a.m., Thursday, at police headquarters, 40 Bailey Boulevard. Under several warrants, he was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (two counts), driving with a suspended license (three counts), an alcohol from an open container violation, as well as citations for lights and inspection sticker violations.
Later, at 12:32 p.m., police arrested John Wingren, 48, of 127 How St., Haverhill, at police headquarters on a warrant charging him with assault and battery and witness intimidation.
