Updated: Haverhill Police Make 19 Drug Arrests Wednesday in Citywide Sweep

Story has been updated to reflect the additional arrest of Joshua Maisonett, 30, of Haverhill on heroin-related charges.

A police sting Wednesday netted 18 Haverhill residents and a Lawrence man on various drug-dealing charges within an 11-hour time span in neighborhoods including Mount Washington and the lower Acre.

According to Haverhill police, detectives arrested the 12 men and six women, ages 20 to 56, on charges ranging from drug possession with intent to distribute to distribution of classes A and B drugs and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Two of the men were also taken into custody on outstanding warrants. Fifteen arrests occurred between 8:50 and 11:35 a.m., and those suspects were due to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Haverhill District Court. Three other suspects, arrested between 1:51 and 7:27 p.m., Wednesday, are also due to appear in district court.

Police are expected to provide an update later today. Toose arrested were:

  1. Most of these people were arrested on conspiracy charges which will easily be dropped, well as long as these people get themselves more than a public defender. So, this was just to make headlines and make it look like something is being done. 19 people? I live in a quiet small town in NH and there are 19 dealers within a mile in any direction and I live in a very nice neighborhood. 19 people on mostly conspiracy charges is like using an eye dropper to empty the bathtub, its just a waste of everyone’s time. Period. End drug prohibition, which removes ALL PROFIT which KILLS the CRIMINALITY aspects from the users to dealers, period. We could end all this crap in 24 hours right up to the cartels if people with actual IQs of at least 130 were in charge.
