Lawrence Man Faces Haverhill Home Invasion Charge

A Lawrence man was to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court Thursday on home invasion and weapon charges following a Haverhill police investigation which lead to his arrest Wednesday evening.

Tomas Fernandez, 21, of Lawrence, was taken into custody at 5:20 p.m., Wednesday, at Haverhill police headquarters, 40 Bailey Boulevard. Under a warrant, he was charged with home invasion and carrying a dangerous weapon. No further details were available by deadline.

In other police news, two people, including a Plaistow, N.H. man, were to appear in court Thursday to face unrelated fugitive from justice charges from Haverhill police, following their separate arrests Wednesday.

Haverhill Police report Andrew Descoteaux, 30, of Plaistow, was arrested at 7:03 p.m., Wednesday, at 183 Monument St. He was additionally charged with possession of a class B drug.

Earlier, at 3:12 p.m., Wednesday, James Zito, 29, address not listed, was taken into custody on Vine Street.
