Angelina R. (Delgrosso) Banks, 89, Stitcher in Local Shoe Industry

BanksAngelina R. (Delgrosso) Banks, 89, formerly of Mission Towers and a former longtime resident of River Street, died Sunday, Oct. 4, at Penacook Place.

Born and raised in Haverhill, daughter of the late Nicholas and Elvira (Pagnottaro) Delgrosso, she attended Haverhill Public Schools and Haverhill High School and worked many years as a stitcher in the local shoe industry, until her retirement.

A member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Rita’s Parish, Banks most enjoyed time spent with family and friends listening and talking on matters that were important to her, her family and her friends. She also loved to shop and dance.

She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Chester Banks, in 2004. She leaves a sister-in-law, Cecile Delgrosso of Haverhill; three nephews, Joseph N. Delgrosso, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Haverhill, David A. Del Grosso and his wife Kathy of Oro Valley, Ariz., and Dennis A. Del Grosso and his wife Gloria of Phoenix, Ariz.; two nieces, Deborah A. Fortunati and her husband Stefano of Sangemini, Italy, and Jody A. Fowler and her husband David of Newburyport; several great nieces and nephews; and one great grand nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Banks’ life celebration to be held Wednesday, Oct. 7,  from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11, in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill, with burial in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.
