Fire Department Confirms Woodrow Avenue Fire Was Electrical

Firefighters responded Thursday to smoke coming from this single-family home at 79 Woodrow Ave., Haverhill.

Haverhill fire investigators have confirmed the cause of a fire late last week at a Woodrow Avenue home was electrical.

WHAV reported Friday Haverhill firefighters responded around 10 p.m., Thursday, to reports of smoke coming from the attic of a single-family home at 79 Woodrow Ave. An investigation was conducted Friday morning, according to Haverhill Deputy Fire Chief William Laliberty.

“The fire was discovered by the occupants, home at the time of the fire,” Laliberty told WHAV. “The fire started in the attic and the cause of this fire was determined to be electrical.”

No injuries were reported. The city lists the home as being owned by Xanthie Lazarakis.
