Winnekenni Park and castle will be bustling with activity this weekend.

Boys and Cub Scout sign-ups take place Saturday, from 9 to noon, at Winnekenni Castle. Scout leaders will be on hand, seeking new scouts.

Jeff Wardle, of Haverhill, and members of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA) are blazing a new trail Sunday above the area where the Hemlock trees were removed in 2014.

The trail, once completed, will offer a new view of the area. It will eventually be dedicated to late Fire Chief Richard Borden, an avid cyclist. A new park bench will be placed along the trail to honor Borden, who helped assist Wardle last year creating the new trail.
