Haverhill Attorney Schiavoni New Chairman of Holy Family Hospital Board

Attorney Timothy Schiavoni.

Haverhill attorney Timothy Schiavoni is the new chairman of the Holy Family Hospital board of directors.

Schiavoni, a longtime Haverhill attorney, first served on the board of Merrimack Valley Hospital in 2002, when the hospital transferred from municipal to private ownership. He served as board chairman until Merrimack Valley Hospital merged with Holy Family Hospital in August, 2014, and then became a board member of the merged entities.

“Tim Schiavoni played an important role in the guidance of our hospitals for many years,” said Holy Family Hospital President Joseph Roach. “His years of experience on the board provide a wealth of knowledge and history few others can offer. It is with great pleasure that I welcome him to his role as chairman of the board.”

“We have made tremendous progress in recent years and I am proud to serve as chairman of the Holy Family Hospital board,” said Schiavoni. “I know so many people in this area who have great things to say about the care they received at Holy Family Hospital.”

Schiavoni also noted that the merger of Holy Family Hospital and Merrimack Valley Hospital in 2014 was needed to provide a greater offering of services to area residents. “I am very proud of these recent changes,” explained Schiavoni.

The two hospital campuses – one in Methuen and the other in Haverhill – continue to provide a whole range of acute-care services to patients.

“The two campuses are stronger than ever,” he added.

Maybe some “Hillies” that have lived here longer can chime in, but wasn’t this the same Hale Hospital that failed and put Haverhill on the hook for retirees? One of the reasons Haverhill uses deficit spending bonds in the first place?
