Vincent “Jim” Alicata, 87, Korean War Veteran

alicataVincent “Jim” Alicata, 87, of Haverhill, husband of Roberta (Rokous) Alicata, passed away Sept. 24, at  Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by his  family.

Born in Wakefield, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Maria (Serrantino) Alicata. Raised in Lawrence, he attended Lawrence Public Schools. After high school he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Vincent was employed in retail sales for the former Filene’s Department Store for 18 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James A. Marino and his wife Jacqueline of Methuen; Sabrina Toothaker and her husband Scott of Stoneham; Carla Marino Judson of Salem, N.H.; brother, Carmelo Alicata and Joanne Gattinella of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Cora Murray and Joanne and Larry Matthews, all of Columbus, Georgia; grandchildren, Daniel and Andrew Judson of Salem, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews

Funeral services are private at the request of the family. A Memorial service will be announced at a later date. Contributions may be made in his memory to Emmaus House, 150 Howe Street, Haverhill, MA 01830.
