Josephine H. (Auriemma) DiBurro, 88, Stitcher in Local Shoe Industry

Josephine H. (Auriemma) DiBurro, 88, wife of the late John P. DiBurro, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with her family by her side.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Liberato and Angelina (Cuddi) Auriemma. DiBurro attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1944. During World War II she was employed as a top stitcher in the local shoe industry to help in the war effort. She met her husband and together they brought up their family in Bradford.  Together they owned and operated Johnny DiBurro’s Restaurant in Monument Square and also owned VENCO, a local vending company.

A devoted wife, mother and sister she leaves her daughter Joan H. DiBurro-Kopps and her husband George of Haverhill; son, Joseph P. DiBurro of Bradford; sister Mickelina Perrone of Revere; and many nieces and nephews. She was also pre-deceased by her son John P. DiBurro Jr.; brothers John Auriemma and William Auriemma; and sister Helen Auriemma.
