Police Charge Middleton Man for Driving Under Influence of Drugs

A Middleton man is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on impaired driving charges following his arrest by Haverhill police Friday night.

According to police, Edward Currie, 26, of Middleton, was arrested at 8:27 p.m., Friday, at 230 Amesbury Road, route 110. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.

In other police news:

Two Haverhill motorists charged by police with driving after license suspension are due in court after separate arrests over the weekend.

Haverhill police report Jesus Estrella, 39, of 67 High St., Haverhill, was arrested at 10 p.m., Sunday, at 707 Washington St. He was also taken into custody on a warrant charging him with a separate count of driving after license suspension.

Early Friday, Gregory McDonald, 63, of 50 Sterling Lane, Haverhill, was arrested at 12:14 a.m., at home, on two warrants charging him with driving after license suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Two women are due in district court on charges in connection with a disturbance investigated by police Friday evening on Washington Avenue.

According to Haverhill police, Georgiana Pandelena, 28, of Raymond, N.H., was arrested at 7:52 p.m., Friday and charged with disorderly conduct. She was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant charging her with intimidation of a witness.

About 15 minutes later, at 8:08 p.m., police arrested Zaira Sanchez, 28, of 40 White St., Haverhill, on a single count of disorderly conduct.
