Undercover Police Dent Heroin Operation in Lafayette Square

Three separate investigations by Haverhill police detectives Wednesday net six people on various drug-related charges.

Haverhill detectives arrested Jose Dueno-Pena, 22, 73 Almond St., Lawrence, and Jason Correa-Velasquez, 32, 73 Springfield St., Lawrence, at 2:45 p.m., Wednesday, at 27 Lafayette Square. Both were charged with trafficking heroin, conspiracy to violate drug laws and a school zone violation.

Witnesses reported for unmarked police vehicles converged on the scene and a white Toyota Camry was towed from the scene.

During a second drug investigation, Richard Ramos-Rivera, 24, of Methuen, was arrested at 5:42 p.m., Wednesday, at 790 River St., on charges of trafficking a class A drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Earlier, at 3:58 p.m., detectives at the same location arrested Jose Estrella, 41, of Hampton, N.H. and Ami Coletti, 41, of Newburyport. Each was charged with a single count of possession of a class A drug.

Also, at 11:50 a.m., Wednesday, Keith Dunning, 42, of Groveland, was arrested by Haverhill police detectives during a traffic stop at 32 Primrose St. He was charged with possession of classes A and B drugs with intent to distribute and failure to stop for police.
