City Seeks Residents’ Opinions on North Avenue Bridge Plans

Haverhill residents will have the chance to give their opinions on planned North Avenue road improvements near the Plaistow state line.

A public meeting to hear details of a recommendation to replace the North Avenue bridge over Snows Brook and make improvements to the Frye Pond dam is scheduled at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, in room 301, at Haverhill City Hall, 4 Summer St.

“The city is contemplating bridge replacement and dam and roadway improvements for the North Avenue bridge over Snows Brook and Frye Pond Dam,” said Allison Heartquist, executive assistant to Mayor James J. Fiorentini. “Concepts and alternatives for this project will be presented.”

Input from the public is being sought by the city before plans are submitted to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and Department of Conservation and Resources (DCR) in order to advance plans to a design phase.
