Michael P. Lahaye, 65, Navy Veteran, Methuen Employee

LahayeMichael P. Lahaye, 65, of Haverhill, died Aug. 3, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital after being stricken at his home.

Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, son of Rita (LeClair) Lahey and the late Albert (Lahey) Lahaye, he attended Haverhill Public Schools. Lahaye served in the United States Navy from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1971.

Lahaye was previously employed at Western Electric and Raytheon Company, retiring after 20 years of service. He was currently employed in the maintenance department for the Methuen School Department for the past 13 years. A member of the Salem Bible Church, Lahaye enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and going to the beach. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the golf league at Hickory Hill Golf Course in Methuen.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dianne M. (Forte) Lahaye; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis M. and Lisa Lahaye of Haverhill; daughters, Michelle P. Lahaye of Haverhill, and Danielle M. Lahaye of Haverhill; mother, Rita (LeClair) Lahey of Haverhill; brother and sister-in-law, Albert J. Jr. and Pauline Lahaye of Mecklenburg County, N.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra J. and Raymond “Joe” Butler of North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Jeremiah, Kristina, Kelsey, Alexandra, Jared, Nicholas, Evan, Jaiden and Davian; great granddaughter, Kailyn; several nieces and nephews; two aunts; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine R. Veltsos.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lahaye’s life celebration Friday, Aug. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral service will take place Saturday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., at the Salem Bible Church, 11 Ermer Road, Salem, N.H., followed by burial with military honors in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill. A reception in the Salem Bible Church Fellowship Hall will follow the burial service.
