Teresina ‘Theresa’ (Costentino) Coppola, Served Johnnie’s Place, Georgetown

Teresina “Theresa” (Costentino) Coppola, of Haverhill,  passed away at her home surrounded by family July 25. She treasured her home on Carelton Street in Haverhill, and had lived there with her husband since 1957.

Born in Calabria, Italy, daughter of the late Dominico and Teresina (Perri) Costentino, Coppola moved to the United States in 1953. She was a member of St. Rita’s Parish in Haverhill for many years. She enjoyed working at her son’s Deli, Johnnie’s Place in Georgetown for more than 30 years. She was very well known and loved by her customers for her delicious calzones and other Italian foods. She was also very well known and loved for her feisty and fun loving personality.  Coppola had a passion and talent for cooking. She enjoyed gardening and traveling back to her hometown in Italy regularly to visit her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Coppola, and her two daughters, Kathy Ann Coppola and Nadine (Coppola) Drown. She is survived by her son, John F. Coppola of Bradford and his wife Carolyn; five grandchildren, John F. Coppola III, Danielle T. Coppola, Thomas J. Coppola, Kara H. Coppola, and Katherine T. (Drown) Shanahan and her husband Brian; great granddaughter, Madelyn Theresa Shanahan; and several nieces and nephews, and especially her niece, Teresa Costentino of Calabria, Italy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Coppola’s Life Celebration Wednesday, July 29,  from 4 to 7 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church followed by entombment in Elwood Cemetery, Bradford.
