Haverhill’s two top tax collection heads are retiring.

City Treasurer and Tax Collector Mary Beth Roy leaves city hall Friday after working for the city 41 years. Her assistant, Sandra E. Denman, is retiring after 37 years.

Both 35-hour-a-week positions are currently being advertised. The treasurer and tax collector reports to Haverhill Director of Finance Charles Benevento. The position is responsible for overseeing the city’s cash management systems, disbursement of funds and all collection activities. Collections include taxes, parking tickets and tax titles, according to the advertisement.

The assistant responds to public or city department inquiries and participates in “the resolution of more complex or difficult customer relations.”

Resumes and cover letters should be sent to Human Resources Director Denise McClanahan, City Hall, 4 Summer St., Haverhill.
