Haverhill Man, 30, Dies in Motorcycle Crash on North Avenue

Haverhill police have released the identity of a motorist who died from injuries received in a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening on North Avenue, at the intersection of Concord Street.

An investigation into the cause of the crash, reported at 8:20 p.m., Saturday, is ongoing by Haverhill and state police. The victim, identified as Angel Hernandez, 30, of Haverhill, was med-flighted with serious injuries to a Boston hospital where he later died, according to Haverhill Police Captain Kim Parolisi. Boston MedFlight, operating out of Hanscom Air Force Base, received the call about 8:30 p.m. and was on the scene in about 10 minutes, a spokesman said.

“The vehicle was traveling westerly on North Avenue. It crossed the double solid yellow lines at some point. It went off the roadway and the vehicle came back to rest again on the roadway,” Parolisi said. “He was transported to the Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley. And Trinity ambulance service, the Haverhill fire department was there. He was med-flighted to the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston with serious injuries. He was declared deceased at 10 p.m.”

A witness told WHAV the accident involved a motorcycle.

A Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction unit is assisting Haverhill police in their investigation.
