Police Arrest Seven in Separate Daylight Drug Raids

A mid-day crackdown Thursday by Haverhill police detectives on illegal drug activity netted seven people during three separate investigations.

According to police, Eric Balsamo, 37, address not listed; Samantha Barrette, 29, of Amesbury; and Nicole Bennett, 32, of Amesbury were arrested at 11:09 a.m., Thursday, at 407 Amesbury Road. Each is charged with possession of a class A drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Balsamo is additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Minutes later, at 11:38 a.m., Adam Carter, 34, of Georgetown and Scott Valliere, 39, of North Waterboro, Maine, were arrested by Haverhill detectives at the intersection of Main and Rosemont streets. Carter was charged with distribution of a class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Valliere was charged with possession of a class B drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Also, two other suspects were arrested by detectives within a one hour span during an investigation outside CVS Pharmacy, 425 Lowell Ave. Haverhill Police report Michelle Ann Crouse, 42, of Dover, N.H was arrested at 12:51 p.m. on a charge of possession of a class A drug with intent to distribute. She was also taken into custody on three unspecified outstanding warrants.

At 1:47 p.m., Joselito Medina Torres, 35, of Lawrence, was arrested on charges of possession of a class A drug with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

All seven were due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

In other police news, two Haverhill residents are due to be arraigned in district court on various charges stemming from an investigation Thursday night in the Acre section.

According to Haverhill Police, Sarra Mills, 28 and Alan Mills, 20, both of 24 Fifth Ave., Haverhill, were arrested at 9:30 p.m., Thursday, at home. Alan Mills was charged with possession of ammunition without a license, unlawful possession of fireworks and possession of a class D drug with intent to distribute. Sarra Mills was charged with disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Also, a Lawrence man was arraigned in Haverhill District Court following his arrest in connection with a disturbance early Thursday morning. Haverhill police report Jose G. Defrancesco, 40, of Lawrence, was arrested at 12:58 a.m., Thursday, at 14 Jeffrey Lane. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
