Police Arrest Four in Underage Drinking Round-Up in Acre

Four Haverhill residents, including a juvenile, are facing under-age alcohol possession charges in court as the result of a police investigation, which lead to their arrests Wednesday evening.

According to Haverhill police, Makayla Padilla, 18, of 10 Hancock St.; Alyssa Payos, 20, of 961 Amesbury Road; Jacob Barchard, 20, of 93 White St., unit 21; and a 17-year old female juvenile were arrested at 5:45 p.m., Wednesday, at the intersection of White and Vine streets. Barchard was charged with procuring alcohol for a minor and being a minor in possession of alcohol. Padilla, Payos and the juvenile were each charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol. Payos was additionally charged with being a minor transporting alcohol.

In other police news, a man listed by Haverhill police as homeless is due to be arraigned in district court on assault-related charges after his arrest Wednesday night on a warrant. Haverhill police report Lawrence Hankins, 38, was taken into custody at 10:57 p.m., Wednesday, at the intersection of Main and Winter streets. Under the warrant, he is charged with threatening to commit a crime, assault and intimidation of a witness.

Also, Haverhill police Wednesday arrested a man on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle stemming from a traffic stop. Police report Roberto Serrano, 43, address not listed, was arrested at 1:01 p.m., Wednesday, at the intersection of Winter and Franklin streets. He was additionally cited by police for a crosswalk violation.
