Newton Man Faces Drunk Driving Charges After Haverhill Accident

A Newton man faces drunk driving and other charges in court after his arrest by Haverhill police early Friday evening in connection with an alleged hit and run crash.

Haverhill police report Paul Lowe, 28, of Newton, was arrested at about 5:40 p.m., Friday, at 519 South Main St. He was charged with driving a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and a marked lanes violation.

In other police news, a Haverhill man is due to be arraigned in district court on charges including credit card fraud after his arrest by police Saturday on two warrants.

According to Haverhill police, Christopher T. Smith, 18, of 15 Ryan Patrick Way, Haverhill, was taken into custody at 12:25 p.m., Saturday, at 27 Mercury Terrace. Under the warrants, he is charged with seven counts of credit card fraud, seven counts of larceny under $250 and malicious destruction of property.
