David V. Schena, 68, Former Haverhill Water Dept., Roma Worker

David V. Schena, 68, of Haverhill, died Friday, June 26, at Academy Manor Nursing Home, Andover.

He was born in Haverhill, Sept. 3, 1946, son of the late Vincent and Margaret (Bresnahan) Schena. Schena was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1964. For more than 35 years he was employed for the City of Haverhill in the water department, from where he retired. Schena also worked at the Roma Restaurant for several years. He served in the Army Reserves, enjoyed playing cards and softball, and was a member of the Garibaldi Club, Haverhill.

His survivors include his wife of 24 years, Linda E. (Henderson) Schena of Haverhill; stepchildren, John Strykowski and his wife Susan, of Bradford, Samantha Jusko and her husband Brian of Sandown, N.H., Jennell (Haggerty) Pardif of Hampstead, N.H., Raelene (Haggerty) King of Florida, John Haggerty of Tenn.; three brothers, Vinny Schena and his wife Cindy of Bradford, Gerard Schena of Plaistow, N.H., Mark Schena and his wife Sue of Bradford; two sisters, Mary Jo Girard and her husband Scott of Reading, Suzanne Clancy of North Andover; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the stepfather of the late Robert Strykowski.

At his request, funeral services will be private with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA, 02472.
