Haverhill Man, 24, Dies in Motorcycle Crash on 495 in Lowell

Dana Fields, 24, of Haverhill, was killed last night when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a tractor-trailer unit on Interstate 495 in Lowell.

Troopers from the state police barracks in Andover responded at 11:40 p.m., Thursday, to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the northbound lanes of the highway.

An investigation by Trooper Brian Murphy reports a Fields was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he rear-ended the tractor-trailer unit. He was thrown from the motorcycle and was determined deceased at the scene.

The facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. Also assisting at the scene were Lowell Fire and EMS, Massachusetts Department of Transportation and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
