No comment from Haverhill city officials Monday on the matter of a Haverhill man facing drunk driving charges in court, whose occupation is listed by police as a “parking enforcement officer.”
Haverhill police report Michael D. Mooney, 22, of 402 Groveland St., Haverhill, occupation listed as a “parking enforcement officer,” was arrested at 4:57 a.m., Sunday, at 64 Franklin St. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
WHAV sought to determine whether Mooney works for the city of Haverhill, but Human Resources Director Denise McClanahan was unavailable for comment and David S. Van Dam, chief of staff to Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini, said, “we don’t comment of personnel matters.”
Also, Martin Vega, 34, of 4 Observatory Ave., apartment 1, Haverhill, was arrested at 6:59 p.m., Sunday, at 284 Winter St. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
In other police news, two Haverhill men are facing assault and other charges after their arrests in connection with separate disturbance investigations.
According to Haverhill police, Keith Martin, 31, of 3 Angel Ave., Haverhill, was arrested at 12:40 a.m., Sunday, at his home. He was charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and malicious destruction of property.
Earlier last weekend, police arrested Miguel Gragirenes, 27, of 63 Fifth Ave., first floor, Haverhill, on a probation violation warrant at 7:30 a.m., Friday, at Main and Winter streets. Under the warrant, he is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, idle and disorderly and malicious damage under $250.
A Haverhill man, arrested on a warrant Friday evening, is due to be arraigned in district court on burglary-related charges. Haverhill police report Peter J. Decosta, 33, of 48 Dudley St., Haverhill, was arrested at 8:06 p.m., Friday, on Winter Street. Under the arrest warrant, he is charged with breaking and entering, larceny and attempt to commit a crime.
