State Police Identify Woman Killed in Georgetown Rollover

Massachusetts State Police have released the identity of a woman killed late Saturday afternoon in a single-car, rollover crash on Interstate 95 in Georgetown.

The woman, identified by state police as Lisbeth Rodriguez, 46 of Lynn, was a passenger in a car driven by a 48-year-old Lynn man. She was transported to Beverly Hospital where she was subsequently pronounced dead. The driver, whose identity has yet to be released, was also taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A preliminary investigation by State Police Trooper George Katsarakes indicates the driver was traveling southbound in a 1994 Toyota Corolla when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to rollover and crash in the roadway. The accident took place south of exit 54 in Georgetown.

The cause of the crash is under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. No charges were filed.

Georgetown Fire and EMS and personnel from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation assisted state police at the scene.
