Ann (Derderian) Boyajian, 93, Former Hale Nurse

Ann (Derderian) Boyajian, 93, formerly of Methuen, died Wednesday evening, June 10 at Broward Medical Center, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

She was born in Kharpert, Armenia, Jan. 4, 1922, daughter of the late Krikor and Lillian (Palanjian) Derderian. Her family moved to the United States when she was one and she was educated in the Haverhill school system, graduating from Haverhill High, class of 1940. She earned her registered nursing degree from Massachusetts Memorial Hospital, now Boston Medical Center. For several years she was employed as a RN in Boston as well as the former Hale Hospital, Haverhill. Boyajian, along with her late husband, also owned and operated the former Skyport restaurant, Methuen, for many years, and were members for many years at Haverhill Country Club. While living in the area, she was a member of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church in Haverhill.

She was the wife of the late Paul P. Boyajian, mother of the late Kenneth Boyajian and Karen Boyajian and sister of the late James Derderian, Roxie Derderian and Agnes Esaian. Her survivors include a daughter, Linda Patterson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandchildren Todd Santos and Whitney Diedericks; two great grandchildren Cole and Riedericks, and Jean Diedericks; and several nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request, funeral services were privately held Saturday, June 13, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill. Interment was in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
