Police Arrest Five on Various Charges Throughout City

A string of warrant arrests Wednesday nets five people on various charges ranging from unlicensed motor vehicle operation, to assault-related charges against a Plaistow, N.H. man arrested late Wednesday night at the Plug Pond recreational area.

According to Haverhill police, Joshua Smith, 26, of Plaistow, N.H., was taken into custody at 11:17 p.m. on two warrants charging him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Also, Chirsten R. Gelinas, 30, of Manchester, N.H., was arrested at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, at 331 Broadway on a charge of driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license and an outstanding warrant for charges not listed by police.

Leticia Torres, 21, 176 South Pleasant St., Haverhill, was taken into custody at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and South Main Street on a warrant charging her with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to wear a seatbelt.

Karen Wezesa, 42, 26 Sixteenth Ave., Haverhill, was taken into custody at 3:55 p.m., Wednesday, on a warrant. Specific charges were not listed.

And a male suspect from Haverhill, age not listed, was arrested at 7 a.m., Wednesday, at 25 Washington St. on a warrant charging him with destruction of property.
