Police Make Three Weekend Drunk Driving Arrests

Three people are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on drunk driving and motor vehicle charges following separate arrests over the weekend.

According to Haverhill Police, Jairo Ruiz, 45, address not listed, was arrested at 9:58 p.m., Saturday at 400 Lowell Ave. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, operating after license revocation, refusal to identify himself and giving a false name to police. He was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant charging him with perjury, uttering a false document and making a false application for a license.

Earlier Saturday, police report Judy A. Houle, 52, of 22 Phoenix Row, unit 203, Haverhill, was arrested at 5:55 p.m. at 2 Water St. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of drugs and possession of a class E drug. She was also taken into custody on a warrant charging her with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Also, police arrested Walter Avila, 29, of 21 Fourth Ave., unit 2, Haverhill, at 10 p.m., Friday, at 73 White St. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

In other police news, a Haverhill woman is due in court to face charges in connection with a disturbance early Sunday morning at 85 White Street. According to Haverhill police, Katelyn L. Zangari, 24, of 113 White St., Haverhill, was arrested at 2:30 a.m., Sunday. She was charged with disorderly conduct, intimidation of a witness and threatening.
