Head On Crash Leaves Motorcyle Operator Hospitalized

A head on collision between an automobile and motorcycle late Thursday afternoon on route 125 sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police said a motorcycle was traveling north on route 125 near the former Ralph’s Restaurant, Knipe Road, when another vehicle crossed its path just after 5:30 p.m., sending the motorcycle operator airborne.

“The operator has serious non life threatening injuries,” police said.

There were no arrests, but the accident is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) and Haverhill Patrolman Lance Powell, crash reconstruction officer. Names of the persons involved have not yet been released.

Around the same time, police responded to two other automobile accidents—one just down the road at 1226 Boston Road 20 minutes later. Police said the stretch of road, especially during rush hour, is the scene of numerous accidents.

The other accident was reported on Fifth Avenue just before 6 p.m.
