Two Haverhill residents face assault-related charges in separate incidents following their arrests by Haverhill police over the weekend.
Haverhill police report Michael Deveau, 21, of 57 Beach St., second floor, was arrested at 2:20 a.m., Sunday, and charged with a single count of assault and battery.
At 6:43 p.m., Saturday, Haverhill police arrested Douglas Beckford, 56, 81 Winter St., Haverhill, on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. The arrest occurred at 56 River St.
In other police news, two Haverhill men are due to be arraigned in district court on public drinking and other charges after their arrest in connection with a disturbance Saturday evening on Washington Avenue, near Railroad Square. Haverhill police report Jose Defrancesco, 40, 295 Salem St. and Joel Tarrant, 44, 12 Wingate St., were arrested at 7:30 p.m., Saturday. Each is charged with drinking in public and trespassing. Tarrant was additionally charged with possession of a class E drug.
