Marie (Bouvier) Gaudet, 92

Marie (Bouvier) Gaudet, 92, a longtime resident of Maurice Street, Haverhill died May 12, at Prescott House in North Andover.

Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, daughter of the late Omer and Adeline (Archambault) Bouvier, she attended St. Joseph Grammar School and graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1941.

As a young woman, Gaudet was employed as a secretary at Taylor Trucking Company until she became a housewife and homemaker and was devoted to her husband and six children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A member of All Saints Parish and the former St. Joseph Parish, Gaudet was a benefactor of the Lady of LaSalette Shrine in Ipswich. She was a member of the St. Joseph Bowling League and also enjoyed bowling at Pilgrim Lanes in Haverhill. Gaudet enjoyed sewing, gardening, and tending to her roses, playing Yahtzee and dominos, walking and travels to the beach.

She was predeceased by her husband J. Earl Gaudet, and is survived by her sons, William E. Gaudet of Haverhill and John G. Gaudet of Methuen; four daughters, Cecilia Buckles of Haverhill, Dr. Patricia Ottani, Ph.d and her husband Leo of Groveland, Maureen J. Castine and her companion Michael Avella of Salem, N.H., and Dianne C. Gobeil and her husband Dan of Groveland; two brothers, Francis Bouvier and Adrian Bouvier both of Haverhill; nine grandchildren, Nicole Parenteau and her husband Richard, Christopher Ottani, Justin Gaudet, Yvette Amore and her husband Steve, Amy Chabot and her husband Derrick, Katelyn Castine, Anthony Avella, Olivia Gobeil, and Abby Gobeil, four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Prescott House for their outstanding care of Gaudet during her residence and final illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Gaudet’s life celebration on Friday, May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will begin on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill.
