Harbor Place Work Requires Merrimack St. Lane Closing Friday

Motorists in downtown Haverhill are being advised of a lane closure Friday on Merrimack Street at the Harbor Place construction site across from the old Pentucket Bank building.

According to Haverhill Economic Development and Planning Director William Pillsbury and contractor Dellbrook Construction, Quincy, a Haverhill police detail is scheduled to accommodate a lane closure in that area from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday. A site contractor will perform a video inspection and removal of a blockage to an existing 24-inch brick drain pipe that enters the project site.

“Our site contractor along with National Water Main Cleaning will be accessing the manhole in front of the old bank building on Merrimack Street. We are not sure how long this activity will take but have requested a detail officer for the eight hours,” said Dellbrook Senior Superintendent Daniel Sullivan.

“There is currently some blockage that was previously recorded and it will need to be removed with a vac truck and water jet the obstruction out,” Sullivan said.
