Police Arrest Haverhill Man on Burglary Charges

A Haverhill man facing burglary charges is due to be arraigned in district court Tuesday following his arrest overnight by police.

Haverhill police report James Freeman, 48, of Haverhill, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. at 160 Main St. He was charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering. Further details were unavailable by deadline.

Two people face drug and motor vehicle charges stemming from separate investigations by Haverhill police.

According to police, Scott Newcomb, 31, of Exeter, N.H., was arrested at 6:20 p.m., Monday, on Broadway at Interstate 495. He was charged with possession of a class A substance and with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

In a separate incident, Brian MacLean, 42, of Haverhill, was arrested by Haverhill police at 6:59 p.m., Monday, at 61 Ninth Ave. He was charged with possession of a class B drug with intent to distribute and with operating a motor vehicle after license suspension. He was also taken into custody on an unspecified outstanding warrant.

In other police news, a Haverhill man was arrested Monday morning in connection with a disturbance. According to Haverhill police, Anthony Montisanti, 65, of Haverhill, was arrested at 9:11 a.m., Monday, at 100 Water St. He was charged with disorderly conduct and with resisting arrest.
