Police Seize Guns, Ammunition, Cocaine in Haverhill

Guns and cocaine put Haverhill police on alert Thursday and brought five arrests in two separate investigations.

Lieutenant Kevin Dorr and Detective Sergeant Dana Burrill Police made four arrests at 2:30 p.m. at 440 North Ave. Derek J. Thompson, 30, 440 North Ave., Unit 232, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, having a gun with a defaced serial number and distribution of cocaine, while Isaiah Gonzalez, 18, and Raymond Declet, 34, both of the same address, were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlicensed possession of ammunition. Joseph J. Samoisette, 28, 31 Gilbert Ave., was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug laws and driving with a suspended license.

In a second incident at 7:23, Thursday, Jose Allende, 27, of Dorchester, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition and trafficking large amounts of cocaine. The arrest took place on Lowell Avenue at Broadway, police said.
